Jamming for the Terrified
Jamming for the Terrified (JftT) consists of relaxed, fun, no-pressure group classes for adult musicians of all instruments and all abilities.
Module 1:"Beginners"
Alternate TUESDAY MORNINGS, 10:00 – 11:30 am
JftT Beginners is the first step for people new to Jamming for the Terrified. It is for musicians of all levels who want to develop improvisation skills in a gentle, supportive environment.
The focus is similar to Nuts & Bolts, but this group starts again from the beginning, making it ideal for musicians who are new to playing without the dots or improvising.
Module 2:"Nuts & Bolts"
Alternate TUESDAY MORNINGS, 10:00 – 11:30 am
JftT Nuts & Bolts is for musicians of all levels who are interested in developing improvisation skills. The group focuses on how music works; what chords are and how to improvise around them, becoming familiar with intervals and how to use them to improvise and build an internal musical map. How to learn tunes by ear, add accompaniments, make arrangements and music composition.
Module 3:"Fluency"
Alternate MONDAY EVENINGS, 7:00 – 8:30 pm
JftT Fluency offers musicians who already have a grasp of the basics an opportunity to develop their fluidity and fluency through playing different styles of music together. It extends participants' listening, arranging and improvisation skills. The styles of music we have so far explored are contemporary songs, English folk, blues, jazz standards, E. European, klezmer, tango and rock.
There are 5 - 6 people per class.
Classes take place at my home in Greenbank, Easton, Bristol BS5
The cost is £15 / pay what you are able.

Winnie, JftT
"You always learn something and inevitably leave feeling you've been able to contribute something - irrespective of where you're at on your musical adventure."
